The Challenge (The “WordMess”)
Read. Write. Perfect., a vital dissertation coaching service for PhD candidates, knew they needed more power and flexibility than their Wix website could offer. They made the strategic move to WordPress, but a frustrating experience with another freelancer left their business in a precarious state. The site was a classic “WordMess”—broken, insecure, and unprofessional.
The key challenges we had to untangle were:
- A Broken Migration: The previous developer had taken shortcuts, leaving parts of the new site still improperly linked to the old Wix platform, causing persistent technical errors.
- Security Vulnerabilities: The flawed setup had left the site vulnerable, resulting in a malware infection that needed immediate attention.
- Poor Mobile Experience: The design was not properly implemented, especially on mobile devices, undermining the brand’s professional image.

The Solution (Our Guided Path)
The client needed a dependable guide to navigate her out of this technical crisis. My first priority was emergency triage. I immediately got to work on a comprehensive rescue and rebuild plan:
- Damage Control & Security: The first step was a thorough cleanup, including full malware removal to secure the website and its data.
- Full Rebuild with a Modern Stack: Instead of patching the flawed site, we started fresh. The entire website was rebuilt from scratch using a modern, performance-focused stack including Bricks Builder and Automatic.css (ACSS). This ensured clean code, optimal performance, and a vastly improved content management experience.
- Flawless Migration & Redesign: We carefully and completely migrated all content, properly severing all ties to the old Wix platform. The full website redesign focused on a professional, trustworthy aesthetic that is fully responsive on all devices.
- Optimized for Lead Generation: Understanding that the client relies on Google Ads, we developed high-converting landing pages and integrated advanced forms using WS Forms to capture new leads effectively.
The Results & Transformation
The website went from being the client’s biggest headache to a dependable, lead-generating asset she can be proud of. The “WordMess” is gone, replaced by a streamlined and easy-to-manage site built on a professional foundation.
